CURRENT RECLAMATION COMPLETED READY FOR RESEEDING ON B PIT

MINING AND RECLAMATION ALL IN ONE YEAR

This is about a 1.5-acre area and will go to 43 feet deep. Mining was around 7 months. Reclamation took about 2- days, 2 pieces of equipment ($2,000.00 including transportation), fuel $250.00 and 21 man-hours ($1,250.00) for a total cost of around $3,250.00. This is if a contractor did it not amortize the costs over other projects or areas. SBM costs where lower as equipment and man-hours are split between other areas. So actual costs for SBM to reclaim the 1.5 acres is around $1,800.00.

Reclamation in placer mining is pretty simple. As explained above there is a truck constantly returning spent material daily to the mining pit. SBM will start with a simple understanding of our reclamation process through a photo process. First and Second pictures are the area that is going to be mined. Third picture is the start of the mining process. Fourth picture is showing completion of mining. Fifth and Sixth pictures are the start of the reclamation process. Seventh and Eighth pictures shows exact contour and grade complete back to the way it was when mining started. Ninth picture shows plants going back in. Tenth picture shows boulders going back in for animals to burrow and for protection ready for reseeding. Eleventh picture shows plant life coming back. Twelfth picture shows animal life coming back. Thirteenth picture shows insect life coming back. We are now ready for reseeding. Full reclamation can happen within one year depending on rain and time of year when reclamation started. Final reclamation sign off is within 3 years.
